Tom Jones graduated from the University of Maryland. He plays drums and percussion at Ford's Theater, Wolf Trap, and the National Theater. He has performed at the Kennedy Center since it opened in 1971 and as an extra- percussionist with the National Symphony Orchestra. He has played drums with a wide variety of bands. He is the percussionist with the 20th Century Consort and timpanist with the Smithsonian Chamber Orchestra. He plays a 1972 Gretsch drum set when he appears with the Susan Jones Quartet.
